Ugly Duck Books

Ugly Duck Books is a company owned by myself and Jesse Toksvig-Stewart.

We first met at university at York St John in 2008 on a Film and Television production course and bonded over a mutual love of toasties. After University Jesse had the idea for a baby record book that allowed you to fill out your child's milestones with no preconceptions of how a family looks. This meant there would be no crossing out of Mummy or Daddy for single parent or same-sex parents. Together with my illustrations we created 'My Amazing Family and Me'.

My Amazing Family and Me is a record book is suitable for birth children and adopted, for gay parents and straight, single or coupled, or for children being raised by extended family.

You have no need to personalise anything before you buy our book, as you are encouraged to write down everything about your family in our handy and well thought out sections.

After self-publishing the book we also extended the range to include cards and posters which are aimed at same-sex and adoptive parents.
